Harline May was born on June 21, 1933, to Mr. Monroe and Mrs. Joanna May. He departed this life on Feb. 15, 2015. He married the last love of his life, Barbara Tate May, on Aug. 25, 2007.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife, Mrs. Barbara Tate May; six sons, Sylvester May of Angie, Ellis May of Bogalusa, Terrence May of Baton Rouge, Bobby Peters of Bogalusa, Andre Tate of Beaumont, Texas, and Paul (Jeanette) Tate of Hawaii; six daughters, Alice May Harry and Lorraine (McClurie) Sampson Jr., both of Bogalusa, Frankie Anders and Sharon (Erskin) Burris of Franklinton, Kimberly Tate of Angie and Barbara (Greg) Carr of Reidville, Ga.; six stepchildren; 31 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; grandchildren whom he raised as his own, Tabitha May, Darrick May, Jennifer M. (John) White, Courtney May, Ashley May and Harlan T. May; four brothers, Jerry (Louise) May Sr., Perry (Lucille) May and David (Jessie) May, all of Angie, and Monroe May of Varnado; three sisters, Aran Nichelson of Angie, Irma Lee Taylor of Bogalusa and Vernell Asper of Irvine, Calif.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Monroe May; one daughter, Dorothy May; two stepsons; three brothers, Curtis May, Leroy May and Terry May; and four sisters, Vergie Lee Robinson, Ernestine Ball, Louis Smith and Yvenne May.

Visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, from 2 to 6 p.m., followed a family hour from 6 to 7 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home chapel.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, at 11 a.m. at St. John Temple COGIC, with Elder Bobby Brown officiating. Interment will be at the Robinson Cemetery. Sign the online guestbook at www.crainandsons.com.
