Ora Bickham

Mrs. Ora Mae Mingo Bickham was born in Angie on March 2, 1925, and departed this life on Tuesday March 17, 2015, at the age of 90.

She married her childhood sweetheart, the late Williams James Bickham, on Dec. 24, 1946. They relocated to New Orleans. To that union two children were born, the late Joyce Marie Bickham and the late Dianne Bickham Armstrong Smith.

She leaves to mourn one granddaughter, Kauwana Diggs (Shmari); two great-grandchildren, Ky Alexander Armstrong-Diggs and Kolby Austin Armstrong-Diggs; one sister, Mattie Mingo; and one sister-in-law, Delores H. Mingo. She also leaves a special niece, Ella Rose Robinson; two devoted nephews, Gary Mingo and Joel Mingo; two devoted friends, Paula Collins and Kevin Turner; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by eight siblings, Hollis Morris Mish Mingo, Bruce Mingo, Johnnie Mingo, Delos Mingo, David Mingo and Classie Thompson; and a devoted son-in-law, Dinel Smith.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 28, 2015, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., with the funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. at Live Oak United Methodist Church, 65701 Live Oak Road, Angie, with the Rev. Terrence August officiating. Interment will be held in the Ford Chapel Cemetery in Sandy Hook, Miss.Ora Bickham
