Lamar Brewer

Lamar Friend Brewer, born Dec. 3, 1925, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 10, 2017, at the age 91. She was born in New Orleans and a longtime resident of Bush. She was retired employee of the St. Tammany Parish School System and was of the Baptist faith.

She leaves behind two daughters, Patricia Hyman and her husband James of Bush, and Kathy Blackburn and her husband Robert of Seymour, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Owen Hyman, Charitie Hyman and Frances Gummere; one great-grandchild, Nadia Gummere; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lula Jane Marshall Friend; her husband, Fred Arnold Brewer; a brother and sister-in-law, Houston and Opal Anglin; and sister and brother-in-law, Elmer and Willie Fore.

Visitation was Friday evening, Oct. 13, at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home, beginning at 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and resumed after 9 a.m. until the service time at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14. The Rev. Robert Mooney officiated the services and the interment followed in the Holmes Cemetery in Talisheek.
