Terry Brooks

Brother Terry Brooks was called to his final resting place on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018, at the age of 62. Terry was born on March 29, 1956, to Gaurdet and Retha Dean Brooks in Bellflower, Calif. They later returned to Angie, where he was raised and lived until his passing.

Brother Terry was called to Christ at a young age and was baptized at Wesley Ray United Methodist Church, where he was a member. He was united in marriage to Sister Ella Marie Bickham in March 1979 and to this union they became proud parents.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Ella Marie of Angie; four sons, Terrence (Chameika) Brooks of Tacoma, Wash., Eddie, Kievs, and LaDarian Brooks all of Angie; three girls, Tarrah, Amaya and Ava Brooks of Angie; two brothers, Larry (Lillie) Brooks of Chicago, Ill., and Gary (Linda) Brooks of Missouri City, Texas; one sister, Sandra (Gerald) Bolden of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters-in-law, Vergie Brooks of Woodbridge, Va., and Faye Brooks of Bristow, Va.; two children whom he helped raised, Darria Brown of Bogalusa, and Timothy Graves of Angie; one godchild, Germaine Brooks of Atlanta; four grandchildren, TyDarian, Terryn, Trenton, and Carrah Brooks; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Gaurdet and Retha Dean Brooks; three brothers, Perry, Jerry and Darry Brooks; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

The visitation was 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa.

The funeral will be noon Saturday, Dec. 29, at Mary’s Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Terrence August, pastor, officiating. The interment will be held in Dillon Cemetery.
