Former Pine quarterback, now LSU receiver Derrick Dillon, made two big catches in the Tigers’ Playstation Fiesta Bowl 40-32 victory over the University of Central Florida on Tuesday.
Both receptions came on third-down situations.
The first was a reception across the middle that Dillon took near the sideline. He then turned upfield and went the rest of the way on a 49-yard touchdown. That play gave LSU a 17-14 lead and the Tigers were never down after that.
His second was a 37-yard catch late in the third quarter that resulted in a first down on a drive that ended in a field goal that gave the Tigers a 37-24 lead.
Dillon had two catches for 86 yards in the game.
Congratulations to Dillon for a solid game. We look forward to seeing what he can accomplish for the Tigers next season.
