David Anthony (To Shane) Cotton was born Aug. 3, 1965, in Bogalusa, to the late Dewitt Cotton Jr. and the late Andrewnette McGowan.

He leaves to mourn a wife, Marion Dural; four children, David (Raven) May, David Avery, Phillip McKelphin, and Mya McKelphin, one stepson, Dominique Dural; a companion, Shannon McKelphin of 25 years; four grandchildren, Aiden Avery, Daviah Avery, Gloria Avery, and Lillie Avery; one goddaughter, Regeanna Powell; two sisters, Priscilla Cotton and Annette Hughes; two brothers, Terry Crain and Demaine Washington; one sister-in-law, Cassandra McGowan; and six siblings, Oma Holmes, Alfonso Washington, Dewitt Washington, Ruby Washington, Raymond Washington, and Ishun Washington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewitt Cotton Jr. and Andrewnette Williams; two brothers, Bruce McGowan and Jack Dillon; grandparents, Huhn and Mazzie McGowan, Dewitt Cotton Sr. and Carrie Cotton.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 6, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Linza Ray Cotton officiating.

Interment will follow in Bogalusa Cemetery.
