Billy Paul Jones, 49, a resident of the Enon Community, passed away Thursday morning, Sept. 3, 2020, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. He was born Oct. 8, 1970, and was a 1989 graduate of Franklinton High School. He later obtained certification as a diesel and gasoline engine mechanic from Sullivan Vocational School. Paul worked in the produce department at Walmart in Covington for the last 18 years. He enjoyed spending time outside working in his flower garden and cutting his grass. Paul loved riding his four-wheeler and deer hunting and had a special place in his heart for his pet dog, “Lil Girl.”
He is survived by his wife, Maria Paula Jones; father and step-mother, Billy I. Jones and Pat Jones; two brothers-in-law and spouses, Andy Cimino and Lisa Cimino, and Tony Cimino and Ken Fielder; two step-brothers and spouses, Charles and Livia Mooney, and Jon and Denise Mooney; two step-sisters and spouses, Crystal and Chase Danos, and Linda and Chris Hill; and also numerous other family members, many friends and co-workers.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Sue Mitchell Jones; paternal grandparents, Ivan Jones and Erma Jean Jones; and uncles, Greg Jones and Albert Jones.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home, located at 1109 Bene St. in Franklinton, on Saturday, Sept. 5, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, with the Rev. Leon Hickman officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencer Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tony Cimino, Andy Cimino, Ken Fielder, Chase Danos, Greg Cambre, Sam Jones, Willie Cochran and Lance Estrada.
