Janice L. Billings, a resident of Mandeville, La. passed away peacefully at the age of 87, She was born Sep. 21, 1937 in Bogalusa, La. to Larry Leroy and Julia Slade Stillwell.

She is survived by two sons, Percy Billings (Miriam) of St. Louis, Mo. and Duane Billings (Freda) of Bogalusa, La. as well as, nine grandchildren, Josh, Amanda, Seth, Katie, Sarah, Alex, Grant, Brooke, and Zach, and her former daughter-in-law, Cathy Billings of Covington, La.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Lloyd “Goat” Billings; two sons, Bruce and Joe Billings, and a grandson, Matthew Billings.

Janice was an avid learner and succeeded in a variety of professions throughout her life including beautician, maritime adjuster (Crawford & Company), and a licensed practical nurse which was her ultimate passion.  

She obtained a Sociology degree from Loyola University and was on the Dean’s list for two years, a paralegal certification, and a nursing license.  Janice volunteered at the Indian Museum of Cassidy Park, the Mile Branch settlement of the Washington Parish Fair, and was a lector at Annunciation Catholic Church for many years.  Janice enjoyed many hobbies including oil painting, crafting, sewing and reading a good book with a cup of coffee in hand.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home in Bogalusa, La. from 8 a.m. until the funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. Father Angel Diaz will officiate the service and interment will be held in Ponemah cemetery in Bogalusa, La.
