Jerry Paul Miller Jr., age 66, a resident of Mandeville, La., was born in Bogalusa, La., on July 28, 1958, and passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025. Mr. Miller was a public servant who valued honesty, and above all integrity throughout his career with the Louisiana Department of Corrections. During his tenure as assistant warden at Rayburn Correctional Facility, his proudest accomplishments included helping to complete the chapel at Rayborn Correctional Facility and expanding workforce and vocational training for offenders.

He was preceded in death by his  father Jerry Paul Miller Sr.; mother, Janice Sumrall Sticker; stepfather, Daniel B. Sticker; grandparents, Jewel and Odene Miller and Les and Allie Mae Sumrall.

Mr. Miller is survived by three sons, Dr. Jerry Paul Miller III. (Chelsea) of Columbia, Mo.; Patrick Thomas Miller of Dallas, Texas, and Jackson Curtis Miller of Madisonville, La.; grandchildren, Elias Miller, Alaina Miller, and Morgan Miller; his brother, Brad Sticker (Leeann) of Pineville, La., and nephew, Dr. Alan Sticker (Meghan) of Baton Rouge, La.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025, from 5 p.m. until the time of the service at 6 p.m. at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home.
