The Police Department reported a safe parade day in Bogalusa with no major incidents and only one arrest made during parade activities.  Later in the night a few more arrest were made, two of which included the seizure of firearms.

Chief James Smith said “Overall, it was a successful day, we could not have made this happen without the assistance of the outside agencies.  We still had close to 100 officers from outside come to help us, they are the reason we’re able to roll the parade.  However, I can’t say enough about our officers on the streets. Violent crime is down, we’re taking guns off the streets and building quality cases for prosecution.  These officers are committed to the safety of Bogalusa and I appreciate the work they do.”
