WPSO arrests Franklinton man on numerous theft and drug charges

On Sunday, March 16, 2025, Bradford Ottolee Forrest was arrested on the following charges; Felony criminal damage, four counts of Simple burglary, Unlawful production, manufacturing, distribution, or possession of unauthorized peace officer badges, Theft between $1000 and $5000, two counts of 3rd offense Possession of drug paraphernalia, Possession of schedule 2 drugs, Resisting an officer (flight on foot), and Contempt of court.
On February 16, 2025, WPSO deputies were dispatched to a residence on Deforest Drive in reference to stolen property. Deputies analyzed the scene and initiated an investigation into the theft. Initial reports indicated that this theft was part of a series of thefts being committed at abandoned homes along the river. Two weeks later, a WPSO deputy observed blue plastic totes near an encampment that matched the description of the property that was previously stolen and obtained a search warrant.
Upon execution of the search warrant, WPSO deputies located large amounts of stolen jewelry, household items in blue plastic totes, stolen copper wiring, and over a gram of Methamphetamine.
On Monday, March 17, 2025, WPSO deputies were dispatched to a disturbance and fire in the woods on Deforest Dr. Deputies arrived at the scene and observed the suspect near a fire, burning the plastic sheathing from copper wiring. After deputies identified themselves, the suspect fled into the woods on foot. One deputy was able to cut off his path of escape, at which point the suspect was arrested.
Forrest was then booked into the Washington Parish Jail, where he is being held on a $100,000 bond.
