Pine High School Celebrates Powerlifting Achievements at State Meet

Pine High School is thrilled to announce the outstanding achievements of five of its powerlifters who recently competed at the state powerlifting meet. These dedicated athletes showcased their strength, determination, and hard work, securing top positions in their respective weight classes and making their school proud.
Leading the charge was Zachary Thomas, who earned the title of State Runner-Up in the 220lb weight class. His remarkable performance solidified his place among the top lifters in the state.
Ty Williams demonstrated incredible strength in the 198lb weight class, finishing in 3rd place. Not only did he secure a podium finish, but he also set a new Division III deadlift record, lifting an astonishing 580 pounds—a testament to his dedication and hard work.
In the 123lb weight class, Cruz Caillouet placed 8th, showing impressive skill and determination in a highly competitive division.
Representing Pine High School in the 148lb weight class, Mark Goolsby secured a 10th place finish, a remarkable accomplishment in a field of top-tier lifters.
Finally, Shirley Muttz showcased her power and perseverance in the 165lb weight class, finishing 10th in the state and adding to Pine High School’s legacy of excellence in powerlifting.
