SPECIAL TO THE DAILY NEWS
The Washington Parish Council on Aging hosted its Annual Picnic on April 25, 2025, at Cassidy Park in Bogalusa and what a celebration it was! With 250 senior members joining us for a day filled with laughter, fellowship, and fun, the event proved to be a heartwarming tribute to the incredible seniors who are active at our surrounding meal sites.
Adding to the excitement, 14 vendors also came out to celebrate and share the day with our seniors, offering a variety of services, goodies, and information helping to make the day even more memorable.
“Boots on the Ground!” was the spirit of the day, and Cassidy Park was alive with games, delicious food, music, and beaming smiles. The Annual Picnic is not just an event, it’s an appreciation celebration to recognize and thank the seniors who make our centers and communities vibrant and special.
A huge thank you goes out to the tireless team at the Council on Aging who worked behind the scenes to make this event a resounding success. We also extend our deepest appreciation to all the participants who filled the park with energy, joy, and unforgettable memories.
Events like these remind us how vital and cherished our senior citizens are in Washington Parish. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year for another day of celebration and gratitude!
