The Bogalusa Police Department has arrested a corrections officer after an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct.

The investigation revealed that 20-year-old Deandre Thompson engaged in inappropriate conduct of a sexual nature with an inmate under his custody and control.  Thompson was terminated from his position and appropriately charged.  This action was taken in accordance with Louisiana Revised Statutes 14:134.1 Malfeasance in Office/sexual conduct prohibited and 14:43.3-Oral Sexual Battery.

The Bogalusa Police Department remains committed to ensuring the safety and protection of all individuals under its care and will continue to take the appropriate action when allegations of officer misconduct arise.
