The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced the official opening of Segment Two of the LA 3241 “I-12 to Bush” corridor project, marking significant progress on a major infrastructure improvement for the Northshore region.
This newly opened section spans approximately 8 miles, linking LA 435 at Talisheek to LA 36, about 4 miles west of Hickory. It also connects seamlessly with Segment Three, which was previously completed and is already in use near Bush, Louisiana.
The LA 3241 project, a long-anticipated initiative, is a new 20-mile, four-lane divided highway that will ultimately connect Interstate 12 (I-12) to Bush, LA, offering improved traffic flow, enhanced safety, and better access for local communities and regional travelers alike.
Once all three segments are completed, LA 3241 will provide a fully connected corridor from I-12 to Bush, offering an alternate route for northbound traffic and reducing congestion on local roads.
DOTD officials stress that continued progress on Segment One remains a top priority, with construction anticipated to begin shortly after the scheduled bid letting in early 2025.
The public is encouraged to stay updated through the Louisiana DOTD website and official project communications as work continues on the final segment of this transformative project.
