Three Arrested Following Separate Investigations Into Sexual Assault Cases

Authorities in Washington Parish have arrested three individuals in connection with two separate and deeply disturbing cases involving the sexual abuse of victims, including a juvenile.
Following a series of forensic interviews conducted at the Hope House Children’s Advocacy Center, an investigation revealed the alleged long-term sexual abuse of a minor. Arrest warrants were issued for Ashley L. Jones and her former husband, Nicholus A. Jones, in connection with incidents that reportedly occurred over a seven-year period, beginning when the victim was just two years old.

• Ashley L. Jones was arrested on June 26, 2025, and charged with Cruelty to a Juvenile and Accessory After the Fact (Felony). She is currently being held at the Washington Parish Jail with bond set at $100,000.
• Nicholus A. Jones was arrested on July 2, 2025, and is facing multiple serious charges, including First-Degree Rape, Crime Against Nature – Aggravated, and Molestation of a Juvenile or Person with a Mental/Physical Disability. He is also being held at the Washington Parish Jail, with no bond set at this time.

In a separate incident, Brian E. Heck, 54, of Covington, was arrested following reports of a sexual assault that occurred on July 4 at a camp on Meckling Drive. According to reports, two victims had spent the day tubing and enjoying a barbecue before returning to the camp to rest. One victim stated she awoke to find that she had been assaulted, while the other awoke during an attempted assault.
Both women sought medical attention at St. Tammany Parish Hospital, where sexual assault evidence kits were administered and later turned over to the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office. Deputies quickly acted, arresting Heck and transporting him to the Washington Parish Jail, where he faces two counts of Third-Degree Rape. No bond has been set.
