Bogalusa Police arrest local man for theft, recover stolen items

BOGALUSA POLICE DEPARTMENT
On June 26, 2025, the Bogalusa Police Department received a report in reference to the theft of a boat. Officers responded and located the boat and trailer in an alley near the location of the incident. However, the outboard motor and battery was missing.
Officers began an investigation which resulted in locating and recovering the stolen items as well as identifying the suspect as 33-year-old Cody Young of Bogalusa.
On July 16, 2025, Officers located and arrested Young hiding in the attic of a residence on Huron Ave. Young was charged with Lrs 14:67 Theft over $1000.00 and Lrs 14:108 Resisting an officer.
