Huey Bolivar Sheridan 94, passed away on July 23, 2025 at his homestead in Bogalusa, La. Huey was born and raised in Washington Parish and was a member and former deacon at the Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church, participating in bass hymns with the choir. Huey owned and operated a pastry shop on Columbia Street for many years, also driving a school bus in the Bogalusa school system for 30 years (1959-1989). Huey was a Mason with The Grand Lodge of The State of Louisiana Zona Lodge No. 337. A devoted farmer and former cattleman Huey leaves behind a lasting legacy of hard work, generosity, and a deep connection with the community.
He is survived by his wife Janice Woodard-Sheridan of Bogalusa, La., one son Donnie Hugh Sheridan of Bogalusa, La.; two daughters Lana Elizabeth Sheridan-Hill of Loranger, La., Patricia Sheridan-Jamison of Austin, Texas all from his first marriage with Billie Daughdrill-Sheridan- Stogner; four grandchildren George Richmond Sheridan Sr. of Kyle, Texas, Jamie Sheridan-Thomson of Franklinville, N.Y., Skipper Lawrence Hill of Loranger, La., Annie Jamison-Huckabee of Pflugerville, Texas; seven great- grandchildren ReAnna Katelin Sheridan of Holden, La., George Richmond Sheridan Jr. of Holden, La., Isabella Marie Thomson of Franklinville, N.Y., Barron Bolivar Sheridan of Buda, Texas, Emma Claudia Sheridan of Buda, Texas, Ethan Charles Sheridan of Buda, Texas, Sophia Grace Huckabee of Pflugerville, Texas.
Mr. Sheridan was preceded in death by his parents, George Bolivar Sheridan and Olevia Jones-Sheridan; five brothers George Shelton Sheridan, Samuel Melton Sheridan, George Ellis Sheridan, Van Buren Sheridan, Evon Lee Sheridan; six sisters Elna Lenora Sheridan-Magee, Mildred Domacy Sheridan-Thigpen-Williams, Cola D. Sheridan-Grantham, Wilda Sheridan-Bryd, Virda Lee Sheridan-Creel, Hilda Sheridan-Magee.
