A 32-year-old Bogalusa man has been charged with aggravated arson after officials said he intentionally set fire to a home and was injured in the process.

The Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office said Joshua David Patterson was arrested following a fire early Wednesday in the 800 block of Avenue G. Investigators determined the blaze had been intentionally set.

Patterson was not a resident of the home. The person living in the house escaped without injury.

Patterson suffered burns to his arms and legs, as well as carbon monoxide poisoning, according to investigators. He was transported to a hospital for treatment, where he remains in custody. He is expected to be booked into the Washington Parish Jail following his release from medical care.
