Daniel Bischoff was the male overall winner and Samantha Descant was the female overall winner in the Washington Parish Fair’s 5K Race, which took place last month.

Bischoff captured the 5K (3.1 miles) race in 19:39. Descant was victorious in 22:48.

Dave Dessauer won the Overall Masters Group, and Becky Nave took home the Overall Female Masters.

Dr. H.K. Tabari topped the overall male walkers, while Barbara Holloway was best for the female walkers.

The event featured 177 runners.

“The fair 5K was a success this year,” race coordinator Melissa Mauer said.

Mauer said the high number of participants and beautiful weather made for a great day.

Mauer also said she is thankful for the sponsors and volunteers.
