A new year brings new promise and hope

In just a few short days, we will say goodbye to 2014 and welcome to 2015.
A new year signals a time of renewal. It provides a chance to reflect on the good times and the rough times from the year gone by, a chance to figure out what went right and how to keep it going and what went wrong and how to fix it or handle those situations better.
Every day is a learning experience, and we should try to grow each and every day.
The new year also brings New Year’s resolutions, such as trying to be healthier, whether that means eating healthier, exercising more or trying to kick a bad habit.
No matter what your resolution is, making such a promise to yourself tests out your discipline and provides the challenge of continuing to strive for the chosen goal throughout the year and beyond.
But New Year’s is also a time to have fun. It’s a time to party and enjoy being around family and friends.
Whatever you do on New Year’s Eve, we do ask that everyone be safe.
If you are drinking, please don’t drive. Get a designated driver or call a cab if you need to be on the road.
From all of us at the Daily News, we wish you and yours a very happy and safe new year.
