David Ethan Pounds, age 57, was born on Nov. 4, 1956, in Bogalusa and passed away on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at his residence in Bogalusa.
He retired from the Louisiana National Guard after 20 years of service.
He is survived by three sisters, Carolyn (Phillip) Pfeffer of Canton, Texas, Pat Jordan of Bogalusa and Darlene (Kendall) Miley of Angie; three brothers, Duane Pounds of Bogalusa, William H. (Cecilia) Pounds of Franklinton and Sidney Pounds of Bogalusa; a sister-in-law, Patricia Pounds of Bogalusa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Dorothy Pounds; and two brothers, James Pounds and Charles Ray Pounds.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.
Visitation will continue on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel at 9 a.m. until the funeral services at 2 p.m. The Rev. Dennis Allen and Elder Doyle Ball will be officiating. Interment will follow at Lee’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with full military graveside services by the Magic City American Legion Post No. 24.
