NOLA Monsters go 0-3 in tourney

The NOLA Monsters 16U team lost their three games at the UNO Invitational, which took place last Saturday and Sunday at Maestri Field, located on UNO’s Campus.
NOLA lost 7-3 to NOLA Elite and 4-1 against the Baton Rouge Warriors Saturday before falling to NOLA Elite 3-1 Sunday.
The team features three players from Washington Parish, including Franklinton High’s Connor Dominguez and Colin Dominguez, Ben Ford Christian School’s Garrett Pounds and Arden Bird, who is from Franklinton and used to play for Bowling Green, but is now at Oak Forest Academy.
Connor Dominguez threw three innings and allowed two earned runs for the weekend.
His brother Colin went 2-for-5.
Pounds finished with a hit and he stole five bases.
Bird played in every game, recorded one hit and coach Todd Buster said Bird played well defensively.
