Yvonne Jarrell Creel, lifelong resident of Bogalusa and widow of the late James Delos “J.D.” Creel, passed away May 22, 2014, in Harrison, Ark. Yvonne was born Nov. 1, 1935, in Poplarville, Miss. She was the daughter of the late Carl Preston Creel and Maude Seals Creel.
She is survived by her daughters, Cathy Creel Sherburne and Joan Creel Pennington, both of Baton Rouge, and Tomi (Mike) Crow of Conway, Ark., a son, Bobby (Ann) Williams of Harrison, a brother, Willie Ray and Sharon Jarrell of Lufkin, Texas, a sister-in-law, Alice Jarrell of Bogalusa, granddaughters Anna (Kirt) Barnett and Jennifer (Seth) Gauthier, grandsons Chad (Amber) Miller, Joshua (Niacole) Williams, Jeremy Williams, Blaine (Amanda) Callender and Andy and Ben Crow, great-granddaughters Kimber Skye Williams, Katie Barnett, and Cameron and Carlie Miller, great-grandsons Kade Gaithier, Jackson Callender and Elliot Barrios and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, James Delos “J.D.” Creel, a brother, C.W. Jarrell, 4 sisters and their husbands, Inez and Tommy Woo, Ruth and Dick Mitchell, Grace and Art DeSantis and Virginia Mattocks, and three brothers-in-laws, Robert, Howard and Willard Creel.
Visitation was held Monday 26, 2014, at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home beginning at 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and resuming after 8 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2014, until service time at 1 p.m. The Rev. Otho Schilling officated the services, and interment followed in the McGehee Cemetery.
