During the 95th birthday celebration for American Legion Magic City Post 24, awards were presented to members with 50 and 60 years of continuous membership, and also Fireman of the Year, Law Enforcement Officer of the Year, Police Officer of the Year and Citizen of the Year.

Receiving an award for 50 years of continuous membership was Johnny Magee, and Elette Cooper was recognized for his 60 years of continuous membership.

Travis Thomas was named Citizen of the Year by Post 24.

Brett Evans was selected as Fireman of the Year, Capt. Jim Miller was named Law Enforcement Officer of the Year and PFC James Cockrell was awarded Police Officer of the Year.
