Pfc. Tomeka L. Jones

Army National Guard Pfc. Tomeka L. Jones, the daughter of Barry Seal of Franklinton, recently graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

During the nine weeks of training, Jones studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.

A 2009 graduate of Franklinton High School, Jones is the granddaughter of Annie Thompson of Franklinton.

Pvt. Michael Wilkins

Army Pvt. Michael Wilkins has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.

During the nine weeks of training, Wilkins received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and experiencing use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewman.

Wilkins is the son-in-law of Raymond and Jeneat Wheat of Bogalusa.

Pvt. Antonio T. Rizzuto

Army National Guard Pvt. Antonio T. Rizzuto, the son of Michelle and Andrew Rizzuto of Franklinton, has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.

Rizzuto received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, as well as Army history, core values and traditions during his nine weeks of training. He also was trained in basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and experienced the use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewman.
