Wilda Corkern “Pee Wee” or “Peanut” Myles, 86, passed away Monday, April 1, 2013, at the home of her son in Carriere, Miss.
Born May 27, 1926 in the Isabel Community, she was a longtime member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where she loved her shepherd, Pete Underwood, and her extended church family. She was a longtime fixture at Sharp’s Supermarket located on Avenue F, which later became Sallie’s Supermarket.
She is survived by her son Daniel F. (Debra) Lott; a sister, Freeda (Mel) Remington; two grandchildren, Derek and Kay (Marie) Lott; and one great-grandchild, Madison Parker Lamb-Lott. In addition, she had grandchildren and great-grandchildren “of the heart,” including Rebekah (David) Hargon, Daniel and Tristan Hargon, Joey Trierweiler and Ben Boss, as well as nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Murray Monroe Corkern and Priscilla Galloway; her first husband, Floyd H. Lott; her second husband, Earlie “Hayward” Myles; and siblings, Hilda (Eef) Provost, Roy (Sarah) Corkern, Ray (Ruth) Corkern and Carl Corkern.
Visitation was held Friday April 5 at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home, with funeral services on Saturday in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Pete Underwood officiated the services and a private Interment service was held at the Isabel Baptist Church Cemetery.
