JONES
Hollis “H. A.” Jones, 80, a lifelong resident of Enon, died at 9:45 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 at his home.
Born Jan. 13, 1932, he was a retired supervisor with South Central Bell and he enjoyed farming, raising his cattle and gardening.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Violet L. Hebbler Jones of Enon;
four daughters, Gail Jones Hayes, Carol Sue (Bob) Bateman and Lela (Price) Yates, all of Franklinton, and Michelle (Steven) Varnado of Texas; six grandchildren, Scott Lee, Barrett Bateman, Heather Yates, Leland Yates, Bret Varnado and Caroline Varnado; one great-grandchild, Makenna Calmes; a brother and sister-in-law, Russell “Skippy” Robert and Sue Robert of Enon; a stepson, Steve (Annette) Stevens of Abita Springs; two step-grandchildren, Corry Stevens and Christian Stevens, both of Slidell; and two step-great-grandchildren;
He was preceded in death by his parents, Zelamer “Z. M.” Jones and Nancy “Sweetie” Sharp Jones.
Visitation was held Monday, Jan. 7 at Crain Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., when a funeral service was held in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Michael Cooke officiating. Burial followed in Knight Memorial Gardens in Enon.
