Funds to assist low-income households available

Quad Area Community Action Agency announces the availability of funds dedicated to assist eligible low-income households in Washington Parish with energy payments. To be eligible, the income from all residents of a household must not exceed the amounts specified by the program and must not have received benefits with the past six months.
Documentation required includes a copy of the Social Security number for each member of the household; proof of income for all household members 18 or older; copy of an energy bill from the past 12 months; a valid photo ID of the applicant; and a document that was mailed to the applicant at the same service address listed on the energy bill.
Should additional documentation be required, the applicant will be notified at the time of the application. Those households reporting no income must provide additional documentation.
Appointments will be taken beginning Feb. 4 on a first come-first served basis. Anyone coming to the office without an appointment will be scheduled for an appointment and told to return on that date.
