William “Bill” Guht Jr., 70, a resident of Bogalusa born Nov. 30, 1942, passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2012 at the Louisiana Heart Hospital in Lacombe.
After 24 years of service in the U.S. Coast Guard, he retired and moved to Florida, where he began a new business, Harborside Property Management and Real Estate Company. Shortly after he and Hughey Lene married, he retired from the business and they spent several years traveling and enjoying each other. He was a loving caring person to all that knew him.
After moving to Bogalusa permanently, he became involved in several ministries at Annunciation Catholic Church and in the community. He was loved and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Hughey Lene McGehee Guht of Bogalusa; a daughter, Debra (Bill) Almashy of Newton Falls, Ohio; a son, Michael (Jennifer) Guht of Mullica Hill, N.J.; a stepdaughter, Angella (Ken) Howe of Hammond; a stepson, Tommy (Lisa) Leos Jr. of San Antonio, Texas; a brother, Robert (Gayle) Guht of Newnan, Ga.; brothers-in-law, Gary (Maureen) McGehee and Donald (Debbie) McGehee, both of Bogalusa; grandchildren, Jessica and Jackie Guht, Sarah and Chris Almashy; step-grandchildren, Mandy Howe (Jonathan) Ambrose, Wesley and JoElle Ambrose of Hammond, Zachary and Ethan Leos of San Antonio; numerous nieces and nephews; and close friends, Nate and Genie Holmes.
His parents, and his first wife, Rita, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held at Annunciation Catholic Church Tuesday, Dec. 18 from 10 a.m. until time for the Funeral Mass at 1 p.m., celebrated by Fr. Patrick Collum, and Rev. Bob Adams.
Interment will follow in Florida at a later date.
