The Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate an attempted armed robbery, attempted murder and home invasion that occurred on Friday, Aug. 28, on the Tod Wilson Road in the Clifton community of Washington Parish. Investigators are asking for the public’s help to find the suspects.
According to Chief Deputy Mike Haley, at the time of the incident, the homeowner was outside his residence working on an air conditioner when two armed suspects approached him. One was armed with a pistol and the other with a large knife. The two intruders reportedly forced the homeowner inside his house where they physically assaulted him.
Haley said that the homeowner fled out of an open door and across his yard. As he ran, the intruder with the pistol shot him in the lower back. The two suspects then fled.
The victim had a home security system, which captured images of the male suspects. One was wearing a white Bob Marley tee shirt and a cap. He appeared to have some facial hair. The other suspect was wearing all black clothing and a cap.
Sheriff Randy Seal asks the public for help in identifying the suspects.
“If you have any idea who these thugs are, please let us know. We need to get them behind bars as soon as possible,” Seal said. “Any citizen should have the right to be on his own property or anywhere else without fear of scoundrels like these two. If you have the slightest suspicion who they might be, please call us.”
Any citizen with any information about the identity of the two home invaders is asked to contact Det. Corbet Hunt at 985-839-7846, extension 2002.
