Rushell Lurline Durbin Harmon, 92, a resident of Independence, died on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015 at Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center in Independence.

She was born May 16, 1923 in Independence.

She is survived by two children, Debra Harmon Dickson and her husband, Michael L. Dickson, and David Herman Harmon; six grandchildren, Kaline Tabor, Andria Sparacino, Tara Credeur, Olin A. “Sonny” Harmon Jr., Barrett Harmon and Amy Harmon; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Olin Q. Harmon; son, Olin A. “Sonny” Harmon Sr.; parents, Herman B. Durbin and Willie Mae Rogers Durbin; and sister, Beatrice Durbin Vaccaro.

Visitation will be at McKneely Funeral Home in Amite, from 9 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 9. Services will be conducted by Rev. Mitch Williams.

Interment will be at Amite Memorial Gardens.
