Bowling Green fell in the first round of the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools AAA playoffs Friday night, as the Buccaneers lost at Cathedral Unit School in Natchez, Miss., by a 35-12 score.
Bowling Green fell behind 21-0 before the Buccaneers scored in the second quarter. A blocked punt set up a 9-yard touchdown run by Cameron Cowart.
Cathedral Unit School led 28-6 at halftime.
Bowling Green finished the game with 60 total yards, while Cathedral had 283 — 221 of which came through the air.
Following the win, Cathedral will travel to play Indianola in the second round of the MAIS playoffs. Bowling Green ended its season with a 6-4 record.
