After tonight, another high school football regular season is in the books and then the fun and excitement of the postseason begins.

After last night’s press time, Pine hosted St. Thomas Aquinas and Varnado played on the road against Houma Christian.

Tonight, Bogalusa and Franklinton are in action and are both on the road.

Bogalusa won the District 7-3A title last week with a 35-14 victory over Jewel Sumner to cap off a 4-0 record in league play.

The Lumberjacks play against Holy Cross tonight at Pan American Stadium in City Park in New Orleans.

Tonight, Franklinton goes for the outright District 8-4A championship against Pearl River.

Congratulations to Bogalusa and good luck to Franklinton tonight.

With football season nearing its conclusion, that means basketball and soccer are getting ready to begin.

On Thursday, Nov. 12, fans of several schools in Washington Parish, Bogalusa, Pine, Franklinton and Varnado have a chance to see their boys and girls teams take center court in the Varnado High School Jamboree.

Jewel Sumner is also competing in the event.

The jamboree features 10 contests. Games begin at 5 p.m. and tip off times are scheduled every 20 minutes with the final game set to get underway at 7:40 p.m.
