The magic of Christmas in the Park continues this weekend, and thanks to the efforts of Millicent “Jimmie” Canter of the Museums of Cassidy Park, the Pioneer and Native American museums will be open.

The Red Hat Ladybugs will also open the Deli in the Park so visitors to Christmas in the Park can warm up with some hot chocolate, coffee, chili dogs, nachos, popcorn, and other delights. And for those who prefer them, the Red Hatters will even offer cold drinks.

Sharing those experiences can enhance the family celebration of the season as the park comes alive with more than a million colored lights in fanciful shapes and with Christmas music sounding throughout its lush expanse. Thousands of people come from near and far to visit the event annually.

The Yule Log is already burning, and Santa Claus will be on site on the Pioneer Museum porch during the walk through period from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. nightly. Drive through is allowed from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Christmas in the Park will be open Dec. 4-6, 11-13 and 18-25. Admission is $8 per vehicle during the drive through hour, and $4 per adult and $1 per student during the walk through period. An open-air transport is available for those who need it during the walk through time.
