Earl Arnold

Mr. Earl Arnold was called home on Christmas Day on Friday, Dec. 25, 2015 in Bogalusa.

He entered the U.S. Army on Dec. 11, 1963 as a heavy vehicle driver. During this period, he received two medals — one for good conduct and expert badge (rifle).  On Dec. 10, 1965, his term for serving his country ended and he was ranked as a SPF also known as E-4.

He leaves to treasure his memories his former wife, Hazel L. Johnson and care taker who was by his side to the very end; Vera Johnson, who was his companion and previous care taker for many years that was truly appreciated; two children, Raymond (Latanya) Arnold of Slidell, and Pamela (Tommy) Tyner of North Brunswick, N.J.; one brother, Arthor (Velma) Borner of Los Angeles, Calif.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a special niece and nephew, Justin (Lynn) Arnold of Bogalusa, and Susan (Howard) Dixon of Dallas, Texas; a special sister-in-law, Almae Arnold of Dallas, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Alice Bolton; and two brothers, Pappa Arnold and Harry Arnold.

Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016 from noon until 2 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. at Greater Bogalusa Full Gospel Baptist Church in Bogalusa, with pastor Jerry L. Newton officiating. Interment will follow in Bogalusa Cemetery.
