Mrs. Delores Laurent Manning, age 75, of Palo Alto, Calif., and former resident of Bogalusa, was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Earnest (Geneva) Laurent Sr., on July 26, 1940, and humbly gave a silent sigh and went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016.

She graduated from Central Memorial High School of Bogalusa in 1959.

Delores was a member of Second Baptist Church for 21 years where she served as President of the Benevolent and member of The Women’s Ministry.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church at 1112 Ann St. in Bogalusa, La., 70427 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Stanley Nathaniel, Pastor, and Rev. Louis Laurent officiating.

Interment will be in Sweet Home Cemetery in Franklinton.

Delores leaves to cherish her memories: sister Precious Tillman of Bogalusa; two brothers Emmitt (Gina) Laurent of Upper Marlboro, Md. and Rev. Louis (Audryes) Laurent of Dallas; special cousin Louise Gossett of Los Angeles; loving sister-in-law Rose Butler of Bogalusa; her long-time friends Marge Jackson of Palo Alto, Annie Lee Chatman of Houston and Venice Stewart of Palo Alto.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earnest (Geneva) Laurent Sr.; loving husband Clyde Manning; three sisters Helen Ray Laurent, Carolyn Magee and Marilyn Tillman; one brother Earnest Laurent Jr.; one nephew Sterling Laurent.
