Robert Borel

Sunrise, Sept. 16, 1937 until Sunset, Feb. 27, 2016 for Robert “Bobbie” Borel, who peacefully went home to be with the Lord at the age of 78.
He was a Christian and loved the Lord and was an iron worker. He also served his country by serving in the U.S. Air Force.
Bobbie, as he was known, was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Barbara Neely Borel of Bogalusa; five children, Dwayne Borel, Dinah Corkern (James), Dawn Rushing (Reid), Dean Borel (Terri) and Dale Kuhn (Rusty); 12 grandchildren, Robbie Borel, Matthew Borel, Lacie Borel, Corey Fuller(Dustin), Alex Corkern, Mandy Gregory (Kevin), Natalie Rushing, Chrissy Catha (Zack), Jacob Borel, Brittaney Chesser (Mark), Victoria Buras (Justin)and Veronica Kuhn; seven great grandchildren; a brother, Richard Borel; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo Roy and Ethel Bowers Borel Houillon; and brothers, Roy D. Borel, Lloyd J. Borel and Jackie Borel.
The Magic City Post 24 of the American Legion will conduct military honors.
Visitation was held at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home on Monday, Feb. 29, beginning at 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., and resumed Tuesday morning, March 1, after 9 a.m., until chapel services at 11 a.m.
The Rev. Rusty Kuhn officiated the services and was assisted by Rev. Fred Brumfield. Interment followed at Hillview Memorial Gardens, located on Spring Valley Road in Bogalusa.
