On Dec. 14, 1935, a baby girl named Alfreida was born to the union of the late Lucy and Curtis Causey, and was the fourth of nine children born in a godly home. As a child she attended Magee Hill of God in Christ where she was taught the word of God. She later moved to Water Valley Church, and then joined St. John Temple C.O.G.I.C.

Alfreida Magee worked as a school bus driver for the Washington Parish Activity Center and the Council on Aging in Franklinton.

After a long joyous and blessed time her on earth, the Lord called Alfreida home on March 26, 2016.

She leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter, Cyd “Duchess” Tate of Bogalusa; two stepdaughters, Irma Jean Warren of Seattle, Wash., and Penny Magee of Franklinton; her siblings, Tula (Andre) Sterling of New Orleans, Leroy (Shirley) Causey, Hilda Alexander and Annie Conerly all of Franklinton; one sister-in-law, Madora Causey of Franklinton; friend of the family, Roynel Joshua of Franklinton; one great nephew whom was like a son, Ashanti Conerly of Franklinton; seven granddaughters; four grandsons; eight great-grandchildren; two goddaughters and other relatives and friends.

Alfreida was preceded in death by her husbands, Melvin Tate and James Magee; a sister, Clara B. Smith; three brothers, Arizona Bill Causey, George Causey and Alton Causey.

The visitation will be Saturday, April 2, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service, which will begin at 1 p.m. at Sweet Home Church of Christ Holiness in Franklinton. Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Franklinton is in charge of arrangements.
