Lester Shane Gerald, a resident of Columbia, Miss., 34, born on July 26, 1981, in Franklinton, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Miss.

Shane is survived by four precious daughters, Jaelynn Rose Gerald, Mariah Presley Gerald, Madison Elizabeth Gerald and Gracie Virginia Gerald, that he loved dearly and enjoyed spending time, playing dress-up, dancing, hiking, bon fires, and whatever they wanted to do. He is also survived by his mother, Sharon Rose Watson Thornhill of Columbia; his father and step-mother, Jimmy Wayne and Lisa Gerald of Franklinton; sister, Courtney Alisia Gerald of Franklinton; uncles, Tony Dale Gerald (Stacy) of Franklinton, and James Watson Jr. (Rhonda) of Bogalusa; and aunts, Mary Smith, Evelyn and Jimmy Smith and Rebecca Watson all of Franklinton.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Antionette Watson, Floyd Dale and Margaret Gerald; an aunt, Tracy Gerald; and an uncle, Kelly E. Smith.

Visitation was held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 5, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Funeral services began at 2 p.m. at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Easterling officiating. Interment followed at Forest Haven Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Thomas Gerald, James Watson, Chad Smith, Jimmy Smith, Sr., Eric Watson, Lennie Pizzetta, Joe Smith and Stephen Chawer.
