Freshman State Sen. Beth Mizell is hosting her first town hall meeting since the legislative session began in Bogalusa on Saturday.

Mizell will meet with constituents from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Plainview Baptist Church, 55179 on Highway 60. The event will take place in the church’s fellowship hall.

Lynette Sharp, Mizell’s legislative assistant, said the event will be the beginning of a regular series of town hall meetings. After the Saturday meeting, future events will be held once a quarter.

“The open house is for people to come and ask questions and express their concerns and give information and get information about what’s going on in the communality,” said Sharp
