Ray McClain Powell, 84, a resident of Crossroads, Miss., born on July 24, 1931, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2016, at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington.

He is survived by his wife, Annie Belle Powell of Crossroads; one daughter, Terri L. Smith (Mike) of Crossroads; two sons, Warren R. Powell (Anita) of Katy, Texas, and Gordon H. Powell (Laura) of Cypress, Texas; son-in-law, John Chutz of Houston, Texas; one brother, Burnell H. Powell Jr. (Josie) of Denham Springs; nine grandchildren, Daniel R. Schmid (fiancée Mandi Smith), Justin W. Powell (fiancée Kaitlen Emfinger), Brandon C. Schmid, Anne K. Dalrymple (Will), Cody Powell (Callie), Tabitha M. Powell, Cassidy M. Powell, Caitlin M. Stanford and Kevin Smith (Cassandra); and four great-grandchildren, Kaity Ray Powell, Scarlett A. Powell, London Smith and Trevin Smith.

He is preceded in death by a daughter, Lois Ann Chutz; and his parents, Burnell and Lois Powell Sr.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 1, from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Bill Moon officiating.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Schmid, Justin Powell, Brandon Schmid, Cody Powell, John Chutz and Mike Smith; honorary pallbearers will be Denny Ducker and Kevin Smith.
