The Believe Summer Camp Experience 2016 is just around the corner. In six days, the directors and instructors from New York City, Los Angeles and Omaha, Neb., will fly in to the New Orleans airport to setup and prepare for the first camp just days later.

Students can look forward to a week of fun, creativity, laughs and more. The team of directors are all professionals in their respective fields, with years of experience as performers, directors and instructors all over the United States and around the world.

The Believe Summer Camp Experience began as a one-time event designed for a specific community but has organically grown to its third year and has produced camps and workshops in Louisiana, Mississippi, California and multiple cities in China. This summer camps will take place in Gallman, Miss., from June 20-24 and in Bogalusa from June 27-July 1.

This special performing arts day camp is open to all third through 12th grade students, regardless of talent, experience or training. Campers will be broken into three peer groups for much of the camp and rotate through acting, music and dance classes. The classes will take place Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and conclude with a celebratory musical-variety stage show for the community on Friday evening at 7 p.m.

This year’s theme is “Inspired,” and seeks to do just that for both the participants and the community audience who attend the show.

“This is about so much more than singing and dancing,” camp creator Bruce Sampson said. “We help kids explore and expand their potential. We give them a safe environment in which to try new things, make new friends, develop self-confidence and improve their communication skills.”

The registration/camp fee will include breakfast, lunch and a camp T-shirt that students will wear as their main costume for the show.

Parents and teens are encouraged to sign up online now, even if they choose to pay later. This helps the staff prepare for the camp and allows them to communicate information and expectations with the families prior to the start of camp.
