Jan D. Harris, loving wife of 33 years, devoted mother, cherished daughter-in- law and precious Sweetie to her grandbabies, was born in Dallas, Texas, on August 31, 1963, and passed away on Sunday July 17, 2016, at University Hospital in New Orleans, at the age of 52. She was a longtime resident of Bogalusa.

She was a member of the Bogalusa Firefighters Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Harris of Bogalusa; daughters, Shari Hutson and her husband J of Pearl River, Sarah Harris of Bogalusa, and Katlyn Pierce and her husband Michael of Bogalusa; sisters, Dina Venable and her husband Mike of Wewoka, Okla., and Misty Crowson and her husband Chris of Wewoka; brothers, John David Griffin and his wife Dawn of Euless, Texas, and Jim Griffin and his wife Beth of Goose Creek, S.C.; stepdad, Jim Fleming of Wewoka; mother-in-law, Barbara Harris Adams of Bogalusa; eight grandchildren, Brandi and Brittany Hutson, Timothy Creel, Riley and Avery Hutson, and Braylen, Lauralye and EllaKate Pierce; and special family friends, Jeremy Creel and Tadd Rushing.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack Cecil and Freda Mainord Fleming.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Thursday, July 21, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Visitation will continue at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, July 22, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Caleb Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Seal Cemetery in Varnado.
