Louis Stringer

Mr. Louis Stringer, 77, of Bogalusa, departed this life on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016, at St. Anthony’s Nursing Home in Metairie.

He is survived by: two sisters, Virginia Peters of Angie and Dorothy Stringer of Bogalusa; two sons, Aaron “Ron” (Karen) McCray of Norman, Okla., and Derrick Louis “Rickey” Stringer of Norman; two daughters, Phyllis (Donald) Brawner of Norman, and Felicia (Lance) Harrell of Norman; godchild, Amaya Robinson of Bogalusa; 20 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; special friends, T.J. Owens, Ezekiel Walker of Bogalusa, and Elaine McCloud of Bogalusa; and a special thanks to Tracy Gray for being a friend and comfort in his time of need; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Huller Stringer; mother, Annie Henry Stringer; one son, Wayne Benjamin; four brothers, John, Joe and Will Stringer, and Spam McKenzie; and a grandson, Jaron McCray.

Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 26, at the chapel of Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, Aug. 27, at 3 p.m., at Springhill Baptist Church in Sandy Rock, Miss., with the Rev. Versey Lee, pastor, officiating.

Interment will be in the Springhill Baptist Church cemetery.
