Charles Bickham

Charles Hunter Bickham, 63, a resident of Bogalusa, died early Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016, at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. He was born Sept. 29, 1953, in Bogalusa and passed away on his birthday.

Charles worked as a guard at the Rayburn Correctional Center for 11 years and later worked in the private security sector for many years. He enjoyed hunting and the outdoors.

He is survived by: a son, Derrick Bickham of Bogalusa; a daughter, Dawn Bickham of Denham Springs; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Brad Bickham of Franklinton, and Phillip and Lee Ann Bickham of Madisonville, Texas; a sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Joe Dillon of Crossroads, Miss.; a sister-in-law, Becky Bickham of Franklinton; and nephews, nieces and their spouses, Rod and Heidi Dillon, Evan and Heather Dillon, Blaine and Brandy Bickham, Cassie Bickham, Brooke Bickham, Benton Bickham and Mary Johnson Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benton Edgar Bickham and Walterine Hunter Bickham; a brother, David William Bickham; and a niece, Daphne Dillon Dyson.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Paul Watts officiating. Burial will follow in Ellis Cemetery.
