Ben’s Ford is at home tonight, going against Silliman Institute in a District 5AAA game.
The Eagles (1-7, 0-2) lost to Oak Forest, 40-6, last week.
“The last two games are district games,” Ben’s Ford coach Robert N. Cook said. “We’ve kind of taken it on the chin with our schedule this year. We’re working really hard to win these last two district games.”
Last week, the Eagles’ tallied on an 8-yard run by Cameron Byrd.
Cook especially praised Jeremiah Slocum’s play.
“I’m going to brag on him for his punting and senior leadership. He’s put us out of some bad situations with his punting,” Cook said.
Silliman won last year’s contest, 45-0.
The Wildcats (1-6, 1-1) defeated Bowling Green, 19-18 last week.
“Anytime you get a district win, it’s important,” Silliman coach T.J. Davis said. “It doesn’t matter who your opponent is. We got a win against a high-quality opponent at their place, which is real tough to play at.”
