Demetris Whaley

Demetris Whaley was born Aug. 23, 1965, in Bogalusa. She passed away Oct. 15, 2016, in New Orleans.

She was the daughter of Arthur and Willie Mae Walls, the mother of two daughters (DeQuandria Jackson and Ta’Quana Whaley) and a grandmother of two (Christian Jackson-Paterson and Jonathan Whaley-Richardson). Family knew her as Meechie and her friends and colleagues knew her as Nurse Whaley.

The wake will be a visitation on Thursday, Oct. 19, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m., at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa.
