Across the nation voters will head to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 8, to elect the next president of the United States of America, as well as a host of other positions.
In Louisiana, voters will be faced with six amendments to the state constitution and voters will also choose their next U.S. Senator and U.S. congressman. In Washington Parish, voters will see even more options, depending on where they live.
Voters in Bogalusa’s District D will decide their next city council member. The candidates are Scott Ard, Warren Bolds Jr., Brian “Bambi” Mizell and Stacy Tallitsch. Voters in the entire city will have to decide whether or not to renew some ongoing taxes that help fund the city.
Voters in Angie will vote on aldermen and in Franklinton voters will pick their mayor and their aldermen.
On Tuesday, the polls open at 6 a.m. and they close at 8 p.m. Voters are asked to bring a state-issued photo ID. Voters may also want to bring an umbrella, as Tuesday’s forecast calls for a chance of rain, according to the National Weather Service.
If anyone is confused about where to vote, call the registrar of voters office at
985-839-7850. However, voters can also find their location online at the secretary of state’s website, www.sos.la.gov. Sample ballots are available there as well.
