Robert Oliver

Robert Max Oliver Sr., born Sept. 30, 1948, passed away Nov. 9, 2016, peacefully at his residence at the age of 68. He was a resident of Angie and was a retired correctional officer at the Rayburn Correctional Center and was a member of Ben’s Ford Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by two sons, Robert Max Oliver Jr. of Franklinton, and John Oliver of Pine; one daughter, Lisa Sprehe of Angie; and one brother, Joel Parrott of Satsuma; one sister, Barbara Jane King of Watson; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Essie Bell Oliver.

Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 11, at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home, beginning at 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., and will resume Saturday, Nov. 12, after 8 a.m., until the service time at 11 a.m. The Rev. Caleb Martin will officiate the services with Bro. Jimmy Byrd assisting.

The interment will follow in the Ponemah Cemetery, with Magic City American Legion Post #24 will perform the military honors.
